1.  Use the websites in the Resource Section, as well as the links here and in the Journey Section, to research the anatomy of the auditory system, causes of hearing loss, symptoms, and treatment options.

2.  You should view this animated clip for a little brief showing of how the ear works.  When you get to the site, scroll down a little bit, you will see it.

3. The types of hearing loss you should concentrate on while conducting your research are: otitis media, conductive hearing loss, and sensorineural hearing loss (link to descriptions).  Be sure to note the symptoms, causes, locations of affected area, and any treatment options available.

4.  Once you have compiled your research, it will be necessary to map your journey through the auditory system thoroughly.

5.  Your next step will be to begin your journey; this will help you verify which part of the auditory system may be affected thereby causing your client's hearing loss...remember to keep track of your research by taking notes in your journal.
